The Vinalhaven School Board meeting on September 11, 2018 was an occasion for celebration when PIE Director Alice Bissell presented the Board with a framed signed print of One Room School, by Peter Ralston (photo) and Philip Conkling (poem). The Pairings print was created in 2017 to support PIE’s fundraising efforts. PIE Board member Sandy Lieber graciously donated it to Vinalhaven School with the inscription: In recognition of the close collaboration past, present and future between Vinalhaven School and Partners in Island Education, in the pursuit of excellence in education for our island community.
Sandy Lieber was originator of PIE’s Vinalhaven College Scholarship and has served on the PIE Board since 2005.
